Botanocap has developed a technology and process by which fragrant natural essential oils are micro-encapsulated for slow-release and increased efficacy. On the basis of this platform technology, Botanocap develops environmentally friendly household, agricultural and veterinary products such as insecticides, pesticides and disinfectants.

THE MARKET

Conventionally used insecticides contain hazardous chemicals, which affect animal and human lives by polluting the environment and water resources. Such insecticides are being removed from markets worldwide, and products containing active chlorine and other synthetic chemicals are being replaced with non-toxic, 'green' products. Global annual sales for the major segments of the pesticides market are estimated to exceed USD 30 billion, whereas the insecticide industry for animal health is estimated at approximately USD 10 billion. The environmental pest market is estimated at another USD 10 billion.

THE TECHNOLOGY

Botanocap's patented micro-encapsulation technology is based on a unique combination of membranes and membrane diffusion, the extraction of fragrant natural essential oil, and efficacy preservation. The unique microencapsulation process allows for slow-release and maximum effect of the essential oil as an active ingredient. Successful field tests and efficacy trials position Botanocap's products as real alternatives to current chemicals for the following solutions:

STATUS

Botanocap was founded in 2004. Botanocap's pest repellent products (anti-flea and tick, mosquito repellent, white fly pesticide) have been submitted for approval and certification as a concentrate for veterinary and agricultural use and as a shelf-product for the domestic market. The company's first products will be launched in Israel and in the USA during 2009.
